On May 14th, the Digital October Center filmed the second installment of October Evolution, an interactive television project made possible through the generous support of the Beeline corporation.

First Coursera Meetup held by Digital October
On the evening of April 26 the Digital October Center hosted a meeting for participants of the Gamification course with Kevin Werbach, giving them the opportunity to meet each other in person. The event also included foreign course participants who joined remotely and, together with those physically attending, resolved one of the great environmental problems, all using gamification. Kevin Werbach personally reviewed the results of the team’s work via the internet.

“Mastering Public Speaking: Hearing is Believing”
On April 25 the Digital October Center hosted an address by Andrey Skvortsov, chief director of the Merkator Group, weatherman for NTV and finalist of this year’s New York TV & Film Awards. He discussed public speaking techniques, how to pull the audience away from their tablets and smartphones, and what orators can learn from theater acting.

Brad Hargreaves. “Education: Reloaded”
On April 22, the Digital October Center hosted a live telecast featuring Brad Hargreaves, the cofounder of a project that has changed the face of business and practically oriented education. While giving a talk as part of the Knowledge Stream project, he discussed how the General Assembly startup came about, how it works, and where it is headed in the future.

Geoff Cook and Martin Bravo: Three Things that Make a Brand
On April 19 the Digital October Center hosted branding expert and partner at BaseDesign Geoff Cook, as he spoke about how to build a strong, charismatic tech company, while Martin Bravo, director of digital products at the New York branch of the agency, joined remotely and added his own comments to those of his colleague.

Kevin Werbach: Game Developing Your Way to a Successful Business
On April 9 the Knowledge Stream project hosted a lecture by Kevin Werbach, one of the gurus of modern gamification and expert in its application to marketing and entrepreneurship. He spoke on this subject not only to the students at the private Wharton School of Business, but also to subscribers of the educational platform Coursera.

October Evolution, Episode 1: “Thank God we aren’t Tide!”
On April 4 the Digital October and Beeline joint web project October Evolution was held live for the first time. Featured in the debut were Dmitriy Stepanov from Afisha-Rambler; Maxim Kashulinsky of BG.ru and Slon.ru; and Vasily Esmanov, well-known for his projects Look at Me, FURFUR, and Hope & Fears.

Zeev Zalevsky: Medicine, Bond Style
On March 28 scientist and engineer Zeev Zalevsky spoke with guests of the Digital October center about his second most famous creation after Kinect, the Opto-Phone. At the Knowledge Stream lecture he explained how technology designed for James Bond and his cohorts was completed, at which point its price was reduced and it is now used today for speedy and painless diagnosis of a number of diseases.

Mike Michalowicz: In Pumpkin Plan We Trust
On March 19, serial entrepreneur and author of the business bestsellers The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur and The Pumpkin Plan Mike Michalowicz will speak at the Digital October center as part of the Knowledge Stream educational project. He will explain how to make a startup into a market leader if one has little money and other resources.

Jose Filipe Torres. Country Branding
On February 15, Portuguese entrepreneur Jose Torres, a world-renowned expert on country branding, gave a talk at Digital October as part of the Knowledge Stream project. He told guests about the benefits countries gain from looking after their image.

Your Startup or Your Life?
On February 7, entrepreneurs Martin Bjergegaard and Jordan Milne, the authors of “Wining without losing”, gave a talk at the Digital October center as part of the Knowledge Stream project. The book contains experience from many businessmen who all have one thing in common: they don’t want to waste their lives at work.
